By my own estimates it must be much higher due to two factors.. many people in SL are not in good health – secondly, the age may play a part in this too.

I don’t feel you have to worry about overstating the obvious about deaths, so why do some people deny that it is a factor within the social structure of SL?

The annual death rate for the 45-54 age group is 3.9 per 1000, which would translate into about 11 deaths every day in a population of a million. The point is that AFK deaths are commonplace, so there is no real reason to be sceptical about stories of people being hit by trucks.

I think you’ll find that 75% of the user population is older than your upper bound. The majority statistically trend to 45 and older, based on available figures.
